Equipment intelligence

Know the machine. Know where the facts came from.

Turn a nameplate observation into a reviewable equipment identity, with sources, uncertainty and technician corrections kept visible.

Equipment identity / IN DEPTH

The work behind the interface.

Purpose, prerequisites and the evidence that belongs to the task.

Reading a nameplate and establishing an applicable specification are different jobs. OCR can extract visible characters; it cannot establish that a document applies to the exact model, variant or installed configuration. HVAI’s equipment-card direction brings the observation, relevant manufacturer references and technician review into one place. A familiar model family is a starting point for checking facts, not permission to fill every electrical, refrigerant or charging field.

01

A model is not an asset

Manufacturer information describes a product or supported configuration. The installed machine has its own serial, location, options, repairs and history. Keeping those layers separate helps the record remain useful after components change.

02

A source beside the field

Consequential information should explain whether it was observed on the plate, found in an applicable manufacturer document, calculated from eligible inputs or confirmed by a technician. Conflicts stay available for review.

03

Corrections with context

A correction should improve the equipment record without deleting the original observation. The photograph and reference give the next reader a way to understand why a fact changed.

THROUGH THE TASK

Keep the context
at each step.

Open a step to inspect what needs to stay clear.

01Capture the observation

Begin with the actual equipment label. Preserve the original photograph and extracted text, including unclear or incomplete characters that need a person’s review.

02Confirm identity

Review the full model and serial rather than accepting a likely family match. Keep the site and physical unit explicit before attaching further evidence.

03Check applicability

Use the exact model and relevant variant to evaluate manufacturer references. A reference needs to apply to the field it supports, not merely mention a similar product.

04Preserve what is unknown

Leave unsupported fields unresolved. Show competing observations and their sources so the technician can review them without a confident guess becoming a permanent fact.

STATUS & EVIDENCE

Reference charge is not a charging instruction.

A factory reference charge does not automatically establish the installed system’s target. Configuration, circuit scope, applicable adjustments and the manufacturer’s procedure still matter. Exact-model evidence and broad equipment coverage remain incomplete.
