ChargeBuddy / IN DEPTH

The work behind the interface.

Purpose, prerequisites and the evidence that belongs to the task.

Charging work can produce two different kinds of evidence. Weight-based work records an applicable charge basis and quantity transferred from a supported scale or explicit manual entry. Live thermodynamic work organizes eligible pressures, temperatures, superheat and subcooling alongside relevant target context. Charge Buddy is intended to keep these sources distinct while carrying the equipment, circuit and refrigerant forward. The workflow helps preserve the account of the task; it does not replace the qualified operator’s control.

01

A defensible charge basis

Factory reference charge is one source fact. Installed configuration, circuit scope and applicable manufacturer adjustments still matter before that fact can inform the work.

02

Measured or entered mass

A quantity received from a supported scale and one explicitly entered by the technician should retain their different origins. Time, pacing and reminders do not establish transferred mass.

03

Eligible live relationships

Pressures and line temperatures require correct roles, refrigerant and pressure-temperature basis before they support SH or SC. Measured results remain separate from the manufacturer’s applicable charging target.

THROUGH THE TASK

Keep the context
at each step.

Open a step to inspect what needs to stay clear.

01Confirm setup

Establish the current unit, circuit, refrigerant and procedure. Entering the workflow directly should begin with appropriate setup rather than replaying an old result as current.

02Choose the evidence path

Use the path that matches the intended record: weight-based transfer or live thermodynamic observation. Do not silently turn one source into the other.

03Review source quality

Keep scale origin or manual entry explicit. For live measurements, show freshness and missing prerequisites so a stale channel cannot create a confident calculated result.

04Review and preserve

Assemble the actual basis, observations and outcome for technician review. A current vacuum observation should carry into the handoff once, with its original scope and limits visible.

STATUS & EVIDENCE

Operator control remains essential.

Pacing cannot establish a safe refrigerant quantity, and the app must not imply it operated a physical control. This workflow description is not a service procedure. Full field readiness, durable results and additional control integrations require separate validation.
